The Dutch Answer to Polenta

Here's a tasty recipe for corn meal on The Odd Neighbor.

I haven't tried it myself, but I have tried hominy grits with sugar and butter, and it was pretty good. Yellow corn meal boxes still have recipes for corn mush on the sides of their boxes, and this might be a nice alternative, treating it like pancakes. Frying it in butter and adding a little syrup or brown sugar.

Mix 1 cup cornmeal and 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 1 cup of cold water.
Add mixture to 3 cups of boiling water.
Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
Turn heat to low, and continue cooking for about 15 minutes.
